June, 2006  Rita and Sierra took a "mom-daughter" vacation together to visit Punta Cana and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.  Santo Domingo is the oldest European city in the New World established in 1496 by Columbus' brother Bartolome.  Many famous explorers used Santo Domingo during their voyages including Hernon Cortez, Ponce de Leon and Vasco de Balboa.
